We are able to dispense medicines for the majority of our patients, but if you live in Thirsk or Sowerby then you are within a mile as the crow flies of a Pharmacy and we are not allowed to dispense for you.
If we are able to dispense for you, and you take your prescription to the prescriptions counter in the corner of the waiting room, it will be dispensed on the premises and you will get it direct from us.
If you are on repeat medication we will arrange for you to have it in one of two ways:
If you are a patient for whom we do not dispense you may leave stamped addressed envelopes with us, or use a Pharmacy prescription collection service, rather than collect your prescriptions from us direct. We will make out and sign your prescription within 48 hours, but please remember to allow extra time for your medication to be available from the Pharmacy if you are using post or courier.

Please note that only medications that the doctor has already authorised as a repeat medication can be ordered via the Internet. Sometimes a medication that you expect to be available as a repeat will not be listed. This may be because the doctor did not anticipate that a repeat would be required, or because it is a new medication and the doctor wants to know how you are getting on with it before authorising a repeat. In these cases please telephone the Surgery.
