Topcliffe Surgery Patient Survey results 2007

The information in the charts below comes from the 'Improving Practice Questionnaire' completed anonymously by all patients wishing to do so who attended the Surgery during the survey weeks in 2007. Scores were given from 1-5 in response to 27 questions. These were then converted into percentages by CFEP-UK Surveys who analysed the results. The three charts give the results for all 27 questions. At the foot of the page are the changes that we have made in response to the Survey.

Our Response

Telephone consultations

In response to the Survey we have made it easier to find a time when you can speak to the doctor on the telephone. Simply call the receptionist before or during advertised surgery consultation hours and leave your telephone number with her. The doctor will then phone you back at the end of surgery.

More appointments

We have also increased the number of appointments to reduce the waiting time to be seen in surgery once you arrive. This can be a longer than we would wish for the ever-popular walk-in surgeries, when all the patients wishing to be seen may arrive at the same time, but we are better able to keep to time for pre-booked appointments. Reminder systems

Reminder systems are in place for the following:

  • medication reviews
  • coronary heart disease and stroke monitoring reviews
  • diabetic reviews
  • asthma checks
  • COPD monitoring reviews
  • cervical smears
    but not for:
  • blood pressure checks without medication review
  • repeat blood tests without medication review
  • vitamin B12 and other therapeutic injections
  • follow-up travel injections

    We ask you to take these as your responsibility and to make your own diary note to remind you to make an appointment.

    Comments box

    We welcome comments on our service from patients. So, in response to the Patient Survey, we have provided a box on the reception counter for written comments. Please add your name to your comment so that we can get back to you if appropriate.
