Appointments

We offer a choice of appointment or walk-in surgeries.  Walk-in surgeries are held every weekday so we are able to offer same-day consultations with a doctor or a nurse if required.  This may not always be with your preferred choice of doctor or nurse. 

Walk-in surgeries (no appointment needed):  

We offer these every weekday morning and four evenings (not Thursday evening when we are closed).  Please attend during the advertised hours if you wish to be seen and please do not arrive in the very last minutes of the surgery unless it is urgent. 

Appointments:

The doctors are also usually able to offer surgeries by appointment each morning and evening, Monday to Friday (except Thursday evening when we are closed).  The earliest appointment is at 08:10 and the latest is 17:50.  The nurses also offer appointments in the mornings.  Their earliest appointment is at 08:10 hours but appointments are also available later.  Appointments are routinely booked for 10 minutes.  Please ask if you require a longer appointment.

Home Visits

We make home visits to those who are too ill or infirm to come to the surgery. In all other circumstances we prefer to see patients at the Surgery, as it is often helpful to have the surgery facilities and practice team to hand.

If you are in doubt as to whether a home visit is appropriate please telephone and ask. Please discuss visits with us whenever possible before 10:00 hours as it helps us to organise our day more efficiently.

Please do not be surprised if the receptionist asks for details of your illness as this helps us with planning priorities.

Please remember that several patients can be seen in the practice in the time that it takes to make one home visit. There are also better facilities for examining and treating patients at the Surgery.

Test Results

We ask that you make it your personal responsibility to find out the results of any tests, X-rays etc. that we have requested, with the exception of cervical smears where the results will be sent to you direct.

We cannot undertake to telephone all our patients to inform of test results. Occasionally however the nurses do telephone patients with test results. If there is an answer phone they will leave a message requesting that you contact the Surgery. If you do not want messages left on your answering service please let us know.

Please note: Your results are confidential to you and will not be given to anyone else without your express permission. Exceptions to this apply for young children (when results will be given to a parent or guardian) and when another doctor needs to know.

Telephone Advice

We have made it easy for you to speak to the doctor or nurse on the telephone.  Telephone during the advertised surgery hours.  The receptionist will arrange for the doctor or nurse to call you back, either during or at the end of surgery.
